Trivet

I have a client of mines that wants me to make a trivet for her. I'm thinking that this kind of item will not be a smart idea because a trivet will have to withstand the placement of a very hot food item and I'm afraid that will be an easy case of thermal shock. #-o What do people think? :-k Thanks

Re: A new tool for drawing with powder or fine Frit

Can you post a revies of the powder vibe? Do you have the original one or the 2nd version? Or you can pm me with your review if you feel more comfortable with that. I would appreciate the info. :) Thanks - Terry I ordered a powder vibe recently, and I'm just not feeling the love. I guess I need to ...

Re: Control bubbles

you can used reeded or accordion glass with texture side facing each other and fire. That will give you a gridded rhythm of bubbles.

Re: lace glass

how much frit to use for each effect. It isn't exact because of variations in the grain and size of the frit as well as the viscosity differences between colors. Every new lace is an adventure which makes it fun. Jim "The Hobbyist" I think that where I have problems - I remember my accide...

lace glass

Does anyone have a suggested schedule or directions for making glass lace? I have done it two times before by accident and now that I want to try some experiments I can't get it right. I want to make glass lace to use in a multi layered slab to make pendants. At first I used deep red opal powder and...

Re: WHICH PHOTOS TO CHOOSE?

I would definitely try printing out your pics in black and white - I had one of my favorite plates in a blue and green combo when printed in black and white seemed as if it had no contrast what so ever. Best of luck! :)

Re: old timers survey

on my first kiln I did not know how much life would be easier with a kiln controller so my husband rigged up a drip irrigation system that would turn the kiln on at a certain time and go on and off and then after dinner I would put it to full fused and wear a kitchen timer around my neck and run to ...

Clock Mechanisms

I make clocks and I usually buy from Clockparts.com. For the past two years I seem to be getting more "Dud" mechanisms and have to return them plus the time it takes to fix it for my customers. I usually buy 25 to 50 at a time. Does anyone have any recommendations for any other clock mecha...

Re: removal of super glue

Actually, I use superglue on glass all the time, precisely because it holds for awhile but comes off easily...... Does this mean if I have some super glue exposed in some textured areas the fusing will just burn it off? I haven't seen the piece in peerson yet but I think there isprobably superglue ...

removal of super glue

I have a client that broke a piece of my art and tried using superglue. I'm going to see if I can refuse it together but I am concerned about the super glue. What can I use to get it off ? Will it burn off or cause bubbles if trapped between 2 layers of glass.

Has anyone used fusion pens from Fusion headquarters?

I'm looking for pens that will fire and can be readable for signitures or notes for test fires. I looked at [http://www.fusionheadquarters.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=pens] are these good ? I'm looking mostly for the black and white and possible the gold pen to add details to pendants. Any advice w...

Re: Square/Squareup Credit Card processing

.....The other issue with having someone's numbers is credit card security. I don't want someone's cc numbers. Then nobody can say I was the source where their cc was compromised. The bigger the sales transaction, the bigger the risk of chargeback especially if the 'purchaser' thinks they can readi...
