I reviewed patterns on a number of Navajo blankets and found some common themes throughout, such as the zig zag, then drew my own pattern which resulted in this piece. If you go to The Glass Hole Facebook page you can see photos of the build. Thanks for your nice comments. Tim

Survived the slump and now you can better see the edges. Someone asked about clear strips; There is no clear in this bowl. The lighter colors are Ivory and Almond. Thanks, Tim

I had a good friend ask about making a strip bowl with a Navajo style pattern. This is what I ended up with. Just finished the edges and it goes in for slump this afternoon.

I stack in my GL24. Just turn the top elements off and slow way down so that the heat reaches everything evenly. I've found that it works best with at least 6 inches between shelves. Tim

You are probably thinging of No Days fusing adhesive squares. I don't know anyone who has used them. I find that Elmer's Blue Gel works well and burns off cleanly. It shoild be used very sparingly and not in the center of pieces or it will never set.

I've been using this very saw for a while now with no complaints other than the table which has raised rubber areas which leaves a wider area at the gap than I would like. I also have a QEP which cost about 3 times as much. They both cut the same. Tim

Put a couple inches of water in a pan, place your mold above the water using something like shelf posts, boild the water and steam out the wax. I like using a big pot with a lid. Each of the characters, the barrel and the box are cast individually, then placed onto a wax base, reinvested, wax out, clear glass in.... so the piece is one solid piece, no glue. Tim

A new bowl I've been playing with...

I use 1/8 fiber paper under almost all of my pot melts. I have never had trouble getting the fiber paper off using only water and a green scrubby.
