i am interested in purchasing a disc grinder to use with different grits until to polish with pumice and/or cerium

What about your experience to suggest me a good tool?

Talk to the stone workers near you. Glass is close enough to granite in hardness. You want the tools that everyone else is using (for supplies and repairs).
