Pâte de verre

My name is Jianu Vladimir and I am a Romanian artist working in pâte de verre. I face some problems that I have been trying to solve on my own for about one year now but with no significant progress and I hope that someone more experienced than me might help me.
My most important problem is that the heat resistant plaster that I use for the molds cracks and thus leads to the appearance of lines on the models. I use a mix of gypsum and very finely grinded heat resistant bricks and I would like to find another solution for the heat resistant plaster (another recipe). In exchange for a useful recipe I can make (and send to you) an artistic model of your choice style “Art Nouveau”.

I don't think you need to bribe anyone for their mold recipes (although, I am sure many would love to recieve one of your pieces!!) .

Look in the Kiln Casting forum for lots of discussion on recipes for molds. I am sure one of the casters will be more than helpful. I don't cast glass myself, but I am interested in this process and am trying to talk myself into taking a mold making class. From everything I have read, there seems to be so much to learn just about mold making that I am thinking it is as much of an art as casting the glass!

Give these guys a day or two and you will probably have more recipes than you can handle.

An often used formula is 1 part pottery plaster to 1 part silica, mixed with water as usual. Here is an excellent web site for additional info:
