Got rid of my devit, now holes

Post by maggie may »

Hi all,
Got rid of my devit. Thanks for your help.
Last night I fused a circular piece with shapes on top. I added some
frit in spaces between the pieces. The frit was not all exactly the same
size as I smashed it myself.
As I was flash venting, I saw two smooth holes toward the bottom
of the circle.
Could this be a result of uneven sized frit? Or do you think my
shelf isn't as smooth as it should be? I am using kiln wash, dried
in the kiln, then smoothed out and the dust shaken off.
I haven't used fiber paper and thought this was just for bubbles.
There were no bubbles.
Thanks for any help you can give.

I think maybe you didn't have enough frit. It sounds like your glass pulled up to be 1/4" thick leaving voids due to shortage of glass...Don
