rail mounting for wall sculpture

Post by Anea »

Hello everyone, I am looking for some help locating a picture I saw before of a beautiful wall mounting. It was a mounting of some flat pieces of glass hung vertically under a horizontal rail system. Think closet door for the railing type piece. The rail was only on the top, and the pieces hung from a thick rod or tube with a bracket/clamp thingy that held the glass from above.

Any and all help appreciated.

Anea, sounds like a French Cleat. If you search under French Cleat in the archives you will probably find a link to that system. I vaguely remember have gotten to a site like that from the old bb.

Thanks for the sites everyone.

Ron - it is similar to "The Veil" in that it has a rail at top, but I want mine to be mounted on the wall and for the pieces to be able to slide left and right. I am so close.

I have just drawn up what I want and am going to meet with fabriactors tomorrow and sunday.

thanks again to all who have replied,
