bent glass for china cabinate ?

Post by Liam »

Looking for a source for a customer. She needs a section of bent float glass (1/4 of a full tube) to replace a broken china cabinate glass insert. Anybody know a source for this?

I had to source this out just last week for a client. You need to find a big kiln. Look under Glass Bending in the Yellow Pages to find someone in your area who can do this.

Oak Bros., Antique Glass Repair (Mike Malovich) in Tacoma, WA are experts on this. phone 253-752-4055

With replacing the original glass you need to have the glass pristine and they do a great job with this.

Oak Bros is who I would also recommend. They are a small business and essentially peers with us as opposed to Standard Bent Glass or another company like that.

I can't remember how I found them, but I had a lot of conversations about a job for a client in CA that never came through. Mike is a nice guy.

From Glass Magazine suppliers guide:

http://www.calglassbending.com
http://www.cristacurva.com.mx
http://www.CustomGlass.com
http://www.oldcastleglass.com
http://www.e-bentglass.com
http://www.standardbent.com

I have no experience with any... our local glazier, City Glass, has a source and we just refer customers direct to them.

Good luck,
