BE 1401 Clear

Post by tom suter »

I just fired a small tile with this crystal clear. I was really suprised when it came out with a ugly yellow tint to it. Anyone clue me in why this is?
Thanks for any help

Sounds like silver stain. Have you ever fired anything with silver on your kiln shelf?

Best wishes,

never have fired anything with silver in the kiln. I just pulled the piece of glass that I got directly from be connection. I just called them up and it was a missed label glass. It had 1401 in a black marker but the sticker had 1320. My cataloque did not show 1320 but it was a marigold color. Thank God because I got about 2 full sheets of this. I think the piece I actuall pulled came out of their fusing crate you can buy and was just label wrong. I was really displease with my results of 0122 chips fired on this. I am not a yellow fan. Thanks
