I have been trying to do two firings a day, slumping bottles. Does anyone have a firing schedule a bit faster then this one
500 to 1100 10 min hold
250 to 1300
full to 1500 5min hold
full to 950 30 min hold

this one works great but takes too long, any suggestions would be helpful

i would go 9999from 1100 to top temp. i would anneal at around 1020 for bottle glass. rosanna

Are you spraying your bottles with SuperSpray or SprayA before slumping?

i spray only the top side with borax to prevent devit

I don't spray my bottles. I have slumped about 70 and have never had devit.

I use a schedule similar to the one you posted, but I anneal at 1050. This sched gives me few, if any bubbles. I've tried going faster from 1100 to fusing, but it only gave me more bubbles.

I tried the new schedule and I'm not getting bubbles, maybe because I fire on thin fire. Have you tried holding longer at 1100? Ramping full power from 1100 up cut 1 hour off the total time.

I just throw them in with my regular fuse firings when I have an empty spot in the kiln. Never have any problem. Clear ones are blah. Sometimes a little divit. Mostly ok. Susan

I do the bottles separate, can fit 5 to 6 at a time depending on size of the bottle. Clear ones are blah, and they don't sell, neither do the amber. People seem to like the green and the blue the best.

The bubbles to which I was referring are bubbles inside the bottle, from air getting trapped inside. The only way I've been able to avoid them is to go slow from 1100 to fusing temp. I'm open to any suggestions, though.

Hmmm, that's the bubble squeeze going slow from 1100 to fusing temp. The only thing I can suggest is maybe holding longer at the 1100, 20 or 30 min. I thought I would have that problem too when I switched, but I didn't. There has to be other people out there doing bottles. What's everyone using for their firing schedule?
