I was wondering if it would be possible to use the hole in kiln furniture for small pattern bars and millefiori/murrini like stuff?
What I was thinking is to either kilnwash the inside and outside or line it with thin fire and fill with glass, stand on end and fire like that. Hopefully producing what I want, and not exploding the kiln furniture in the process.
Has anyone tried this? Is it do-able or are there foreseeable problems?
I have the murrini maker mold, but want something a little different.
Kiln furniture for small pattern bars?

Kiln furniture will work as molds. Before you use a piece be sure and check the hole is straight and there are no big burrs or flaws on the inside that will trap glass.
Since most kiln furniture is made from extrusions, the pieces look tempting but most of the ones I have tried aren't perfectly straight. You can sand the inside for a smooth surface and add a little taper to release the glass.
