Metallic Gold Paint

Post by Greg Rawls »

Does anyone know where to find metallic gold paint? I want to paint a rim on a bowl. I've seen the ink-type gold, but I'm looking for something more like paint. Thanks!

Greg,

Do you mean the Hanovia Bright Gold? It matures pretty low... at about 1100° and gives a solid, bright finish.

You should be able to find it from CRLoo, Ed Hoy or any ceramic supply house.

The bright gold lusters come in 2 temperatures, one for glass and one for ceramic. Besides Hannovia, Ferro makes it as well. This is the stuff used for the gold rims on Annie Glass.
