Transferring Designs to Fiber Paper

For anyone who does fiber paper kiln carving, here's a trick that may be of use.

Print the mirror image of your design on a laser printer. You can do this by flipping the image in your software or, for some printers, telling the printer to print mirror image.

You can then transfer the image to the fiber paper with an iron. Set the iron to its hottest setting and lay the page down on the fiber paper with the toner image against the fiber paper. Iron until the paper starts to "brown".

The transferred image will be light -- but plenty dark enough to as a guide for your razor or scissors.

Don't know. Laser/copier toner is "fused" to the paper with heat -- which is why the iron works there. Inkjet doesn't use heat.

Office Depot has some inkjet transfer paper that should work.
I know that it works for white T shirts.

The injet transfer paper is an excellent idea! I have a bunch sitting around collecting dust, as it doesn't make very good t-shirts. Since I won't be washing my fiber paper, however, this is an excellent application!
