making my own molds

Post by S.TImmerman »

A normal evening for me and a lot of other Artists I heard from is looking on the other board and reading for hours and a particular subject that we found interest. Now that is is no longer available I hope Its OK to ask this. I will be making molds for flowers and wonder if wax soap molds that have iintricate beautiful flowers are strong enough . I will only be submerging only part way in the in Castalot mold ,mix. I know I will need-to refire it and use kiln wash. Any other thoughts would be super !

Thanks much!!!!

If the wax soap mold is firm, rather than soft to the touch, then it ought to hold up well enough to use as a model for moldmaking using Castalot.
