I thought that it would be fun to take a blue bottle and recycle it into a moble. So I smashed it into course chuncks and places it in a clay mold. I fired it several times hoping it would melt/fuse but I have been stumped so far on how hot it needs to go. The last attempt was 1800 degrees with a 10 minute hold and the chuncks were rounded a bit but did not even tack fuse together. They were loosely joined in the mold but when I picked them up all the chuncks fell apart... Does anyone have a general idea of the right temperature range? Also the pieces appear to have a great deal of divit on them from mutliple firings.

throw them away and start over. once they devit like that they do not want to melt or stick. i do not fire blue glass bottled higher than 1515f. rosanna
