How to make a slump mold? or Using a bisque ceramic mold?

Post by Geo »

Hello,

I can't seem to find a commercially available slump mold in the shape I'd like. I'm looking to do something in sort of a leaf shape and relatively small (approximately 4" long). What would be the best material to create such a mold for myself? Also, if I find something like this in a ceramics store in bisque form, would that work and hold up for repeat firings? I've read about using a bisque mold and drilling holes in the bottom. How do you do that without affecting the finished piece of glass?

Thanks so much!
