Ceramic Firing Contaminants?

Post by G's »

Hi,
I have a Paragon Janus Ovation 10 Multipurpose Kiln that fires from the lid and two upper side elements (for glass) and from the sides only (for ceramics) at the flip of a switch. So far I have used it only for glass. I am considering selling my ceramic kiln and firing clay projects in the Ovation as well as my glass projects. Does the off-gassing from firing clay cause any contamination of subsequent glass projects fired in the same kiln? Has anyone fired both in your kiln?
Thanks!
Ginny
