My flat bed grinder

Hi Everybody,
There seems to be a problem with my GLASTAR 30" flat bed grinder.

The water pump does not work. Or worse, it works for 5 minutes or so, then stops working. I let it rest for a while and try again - the same thing happens - works for 5 minutes, then stops.
Is this the motor that ran 'sick', or what?

Whom should I approach to solve the problem.

I bought it from the factory direct in Ca.

Call the place you bought it from if it's fairly new - should be under warranty. Not sure what the issue is

The thing is that I am across the ocean. Calling the company means
a. a very expensive phone call
b. a 10 hours time difference. Which means that when it is 8 am in California, it is 10 PM in Israel... This is quite a difficulty. If I HAVE to, I shall do it.

However,
I was thinking that perhaps someone else incurred this situation and could tell about his/her experience.

Havi,
Have someone local that is familiar with small pumps (like garden fountain pumps.) Maybe just a cloged prefilter or tubing kink. If not, email the company. They may be able to ship a replacement pump.

i have a pump-powered filter in the goldfish pond. more than once i've had a pump "work" for five minutes or so, and then stop. someone at the pump company said this means the diapharm (?) is worn and needs to be replace. this was a relatively inexpensive pump, about $55 retail, and if the pump wasn't still under warrantee and got the pump replaced, i could never find a new part, gave up, and bought a new pump.
i'd email the company, tell them the situation and ask them to ship you a new pump asap.

Depending on the pump you can usually open it up and make sure there is not some form of junk in it. If that does not solve it......for the time being just add another inexpensive pump with plastic tubing and a bucket of water. We all know there is nothing worse then having equipment down while trying to solve an issue.
We just went thru having 2 kilns down.......it was such a pain.....but in the end not only did I learn the inner guts of my rtc1000 contollers but i found i could fix them myself! All new wiring and parts! Yeah!

This makes much more sense than what my friend here said.
I shall read this to him and find out if it is preferable for me to just order a new pump , or see what to do.

I am happy I have alternatives such as angle grinder, rociprolap, WBS................ but I shall have this one fixed asap.

Over here, most hardware stores carry little pumps and they work just fine. The pump that came with my tile saw was too tall unless everything was perfect so I bought another pump that was shorter but wider and just switched them.

Yes you are very lucky to have such large choice of staff and stores.

Hopefully you are aware of that fact. In this sense Israel is quite poor, not many choices. That's life.

Yes, that is why I framed it ,'over here'. Anyway, the little pumps for aquariums or for small waterfalls are the same product. They do have different rates of pumping but most will be just fine for a tile saw.
