96 Clear formula

Post by Laurie Spray »

I understand that spectrum has changed its formula for their clear. Now they have a new "clear ice" that is the price that their clear used to be. It supposedly has a blue tinge when viewed from the side.
Their old formula is still available at a cost of an extra $1 per sq ft.
I need to get a case and I was wondering if anyone has used their new clear and if they saw any differences in clarity etc.

I haven't used it yet. I bought a case of the "old" clear right before the price increase when the bluer tint came out.

For thinner pieces (say up to 9mm) I notice no difference. Thicker may produce the blue cast, although I like it better than the blue green of float or the amber of S100SFS.
Personal taste.
Still compatible with the SFS

I haven't noticed any difference. But I guess there would be a slight tinge if it was a thicker then 1/4" piece.
