Mounting glass on wood or canvas to frame

Post by Nbolinger »

Hi all, I need help!
I would like to take a piece of 6mm glass I've create, ~8" x 8" and instead of slumping it in a plate mold, I would like to frame it. However, I don't want it to be just in the frame, I would like to mount it on some canvas (or fabric) or even a nice stained piece of wood, and then frame the whole the thing. My issue is, what type of adhesive would you use to attach the glass to the surface of panel before framing? I would be terrified the glass would be too heavy after some time and pull apart. I would like to give this as a gift, and hopefully make some to sell, but I want to ensure the piece will be safe before I do either.
Any help you cold give would be appreciate.

Thanks!
Nicole
