Purple Splotch

Post by smallbitz »

I slumped this piece on a ss mold coated with MR95. It came out with what looked like 'pock marks' on the bottom, so I cold worked bottom by hand with diamond pads, used the wet belt sander on the edges and re-fired to firepolish. I put a piece of thinfire on the ss mold instead of firing directly on the mold. I have done this many times with no problem - until now. Big purple splotch on back. I'm not sure what to do...I don't have a sandblaster, and not even sure that would be any help. Any suggestions? Looks fine from the top.
