firing schedule BE

Post by Andrea R »

I have never uesed this schedule before just thought I would run it pass all of you. Its BE full fuse for 2- 3mm glass.
400 - 1225 - 30
600 - 1490 - 10
200 - 900 - 1:00
100 - 700 - 01
I have never gone that hot or that fast so 600 to 1490 seems so hot to me and is the 400-1225 30 min hold long enough for a bubble squeeze ?
Fingers crossed [-o<
Thanks

I do a lot of firing with enamel screen printing (kiln cured) on 3mm Tekta fired face down on 3mm glass. This might be overkill for you but this schedule has worked very well for me:

300 1100 45
50 1250 1.00
400 1460 12
full 900 1.00
100 700 off

I put this schedule together from recommendations on this site. I believe the top fusing temperature and hold is somewhat kiln specific. I have a 14" Skutt Hotbox and 1460 works for me. The biggest change I made and what seems to make a huge difference in terms of bubbles is the slow rise from 1100 to 1250 and the long hold at 1250. This schedule has also been good when I'm going for a softer fuse (e.g. 1415).

Good luck,
Drewcilla
