Calculate weight

Post by Joe Wokovich »

Need Info:
I have another order for an oversized vase. Dimn are 36”long x 8”wide x 6”deep.
That is going to hold about 1 cubic foot of planting mix.
Currently I’m hoping to make this out of 6 mm float and I’m trying to see if the 6mm glass is thick enough to hold this weight.

Any thoughts??
Thanks

I'm a fan of 10mm glass.

Bert I was wondering about how much soil weight I can put in this and still be safe

I'm looking at potting soil adds now to see how much a cubic foot it weighs.
Thanks

it weighs lots more once you water it. you also need drainage out the bottom.

I don't know. 10mm is beefier than 6mm. 6mm might work.

Can't answer your question, Joe, but I am curious. Are you slumping to achieve this shape or are you adhering pieces together with UV adhesive or something similar? Jen
