Hi Everyone,

Is it bad to run your kiln (110 V) when its really hot outside?

Thanks,

NO, it'll likely ALWAYS be 95 degrees + directly around a hot kiln anyway.

We hit 100° today. I ran two of my kilns simultaneously. Now and then we'll have brownouts if everyone's running their AC but hasn't happened this year.

The issue with a hot environment (unless you are using solid state relays, which are heat sensitive) would be overheating the electronics in your controller. I never heard of this happening, but this forum is a great way to research this. If anybody has ever experienced this problem, let us know about it.
