Drop Vessel on Flat Lap

What is the best way to hold/secure a drop bowl while grinding and polishing the rim flat on a lap? I'm afraid it's going to fly out of my hands. I've put so much work into it I really don't want to end up plastering it on the wall. Sure would appreciate some suggestions.

I think I'm not the only one that tapes handles on the backside. The most difficult part is finding duct tape that won't loose its bond when wet. HIS Glassworks carries some that I use and recommend. I'll take and post pictures today.

I've changed over to gorilla tape for handles, no failures so far.
