re-fusing flat

Post by Andrea R »

I have a slumped piece that i need flat so that i can add glass to cover a sand blasted name.
I don't think re-fusing will get it perfectly smooth.
It's on 2 sheets 3mm one fuse one slump just concerned about 3 more firings. Its a lot!!
Thoughts and firing schedule would be very much appreciated .
Thanks
Andrea

1flatten fire it.
2Flip it over so blasting is down and fire it so as to eliminate the blasting.
3Flip it over to refire it to a nice finish.
4Kiln form it..
You might be able to combine 3 and 4 in one firing.
You might be able to eliminate step 2 by adding a layer of clear but you might also have a ghost image of the blasting.

The quickest solution is to remake the piece. #-o
