fill weight and firing schedule?

Post by peterbr »

Does anyone have a fill weight for each cast heart and a firing schedule for this casting mold?

Are you wanting them all to be uniform? If not, I just fill until the glass is heaping over.

Glass weighs 2.5 times as much as water. Weigh the amount of water that fills a heart and multiply by 2.5 for the amount of glass needed.

Alternatively, just fill the mold and fire. Weigh the finished piece. If it's too big, subtract some frit next time. If it's too small, add some frit.

The firing schedule is more or less a normal full fuse with a slightly longer hold at the top and a longer anneal time.
