Pottery Wheel

Post by Judd »

I hope this isn't an inappropriate message here. I know a lot of you guys were former potters, and there are a lot of crossovers between glass and pottery.

Pottery wheel: I want the Shimpo VL-Lite instead of the Whisper because it's half the price. Should I go ahead and get the Whisper instead? Is it really so superior to the Lite to justify the doubled price tag? This wheel will not be used for mass production pottery, but more weekend potter's studio kind of stuff.

Which one will be more pleasurable to use? smoother quieter etc. Then buy that one if both have the features and power you think you need.
I really dislike the noise of operating machinery. You will have to listen and try them both.
What are you going to try making some Higuchi vase forms for glass?
