lettering on food-friendly glass

Post by Bonnie Rubinstein »

Helllo happy fusers.. I am new to this- can anyone recommend a safe way to paint letters on a plate that will hold food. The gold paint I have has lead.. should I buy other paints ( is there lead-free gold?), or place a clear piece over the my gold after it has been fused and fire again? Would this diffuse the quality of the lettering? Ideas? Thanks!

paint it on, fire it, and clear cap it.

Dick, won't this diffuse the sharpness of the lettering?
