Slag Moulds?

Hi All,

I have a friend getting rid of some ceramic slag moulds and kilns. I am not familiar with this process and was wondering if any of the moulds or kilns would be useful to me for my glass work.

Does anyone know what the moulds are made from? I found one reference on the web to a cast iron slag mould. I think I could use that material similar to the way stainless steel is used?

I am going to look at the stuff after work today, but I'd appreciate any info you may have.
