murrine cutting machine

i have a lot of Whole Murrina canes and i would like to build a device that cut they.

Any help?

hi Mike ,Mosaic cutters are maybe the best to use ,,my wife is a disabled person so i rigged this set up for her ,, i find i use it just as much,,set the fence to how even short or long she wants stringers,i guess you would just slide the cames and keep hitting the handle

You could bundle 10 0r 12 together ..hold with tape ..then saw the bundle at length marked along top piece (or use a stop).Bullseye used this method in one of their videos.

Mike...it was the video (on BE website) showing making a dish using BE glass rods.

If you are going to consider the above cutting machine, perhaps it would be easier for you to consider one of these:

I believe that one of these is similar to the machine sold by Carlo Dona. It would need some modifications to make it similar to the RedHotMetal.net machine, such as the base plate to hold the cane shapes and the stop, but I would guess that buying the machine locally would save much in shipping and possible customs charges.
