Fusing opaque stained glass.

Post by knoyes9756 »

Has anyone fused 90 or 96 fine Frits on to regular opaque stained glass?

This is not a good idea. The odds are that the frit will be incompatible with the glass and it will crack. This could happen right away or it could happen years later.

If you want to use regular stained glass with other kinds glass, you'll need to learn to test for compatibility to make sure the different glasses can fuse together.

Stained glass will often disappoint you in other ways- the colors change, those lovely figures (catspaws and wispies) muddy and darken and disappear, the glass is prone to devitrification, and the glass may not even be compatible with itself.
