I guess you'd have to test for your kiln, but when I slump stringer, I fire afap to 1250° and hold until visually confirmed. If you're trying for a flat side, you'd probably have to fire a little hotter.

I'd choose a temp to start with and monitor them. When they should be done, quickly remove one with a long needle nosed plier (and gloves!), and check it. Add time as necessary.

Liquid Stringer Medium advertisement makes this claim, 'Its primary benefit is that it will withstand elevated temperatures thus holding the glass particles in place until they are sticky enough to bond together on their own.' This seems to indicate that you can use this product to tack the stringers in place and fire while the Liquid Stringer Medium holds the the stringers in place.

I have used the product for other purposes and find that it does burn off clean.
