My guess is that the 'LOL' is because there is no way that I have can see to query on 'location' within the profiles; in addition to which that is blank on many profiles. I too wish I could find local enthusiasts more easily than just watching posts so asking appears to be the best option.

Click on Members at bottom of page.
Click on the member's name and their location comes up.
Pretty quick really and seriously it does work although time consuming, no doubt about it.
Sometimes it is easier to just google the location you want and search to find studios.
