make your pattern using strips or rods of glass.
Can use a tin can initially to help hold them upright.
Once pattern is set, wire the rods and strips together on the outside.
I'd suggest using 6" or 15cm pieces.
Take them out of the can and place in the kiln vertically.
Preferably the kiln is top loading or the pick up on a punty is going to be pretty tricky.
Heat to tack fuse when you will pick them up and transfer them to a glory hole and then be able to pull them.
Make sure your power to the elements is off when working inside the kiln!!

Here's a link to Cynthia Morgan's web site where she offers several murrine techniques.

Go to the bottom of the page where you'll find the information you're looking for.
