COE 90 frit balls ok on COE 96 Christmas trees?

Post by conboc »

I just glued a batch of COE 90 frit balls to flat 6mm Christmas trees made from COE 96 glass. Oops. Does anyone know I might be able to get away with firing these? The dark shadows are gold decals I intended to fire to 1350 for 11 minutes, with the frit balls.

Thank you.

you might be able to tack fuse, but really it could crack later. personally, I'd make compatible frit bslls

I use a little bit of my paints....just a dot, to attach the balls. This seems to act as a buffer for the differing COEs.
Remember the contact area is very small.
