Kula Mahina'ai bowl, before slump

Post by Kitty »

Image

this is the blank i was referring to when i asked for some help devising the slumping schedule because the piece is wide and thick. it was slumped last night, and is nearly cool enough to take out. it looks OK. i'll take a picture of the finished piece and post it in a day or two.

it's a miracle i finally figured how to get a picture posted here. the cyber gods were conspiring against me for a long time, but the enemy has been vanquished.

Kitty, that is just gorgeous. I would love to see a closer shot as well, to see the detail better. Really a pretty piece though.

i'm hoping to get some good digital shots in a day or two. if that happens, i'll post some close-ups, as well as the finished bowl. it is out of the kiln now, and it slumped just fine. i ended up using a mold for a footed shallow bowl, which wasn't my original choice, but turned out to be the right thing.

i've got a few more of these in various stages of process, including a new one in the kiln right now. TY4 your compliment!

Alright, I give up!!!

Kitty, I can't see your bowl... I've been watching this thread for a couple of days wondering if I was the only one, and apparently I am. Can you post the link?

Thanks

Ahhhhh... it's a bitmap (BMP) file not a jpeg. That may be why I couldn't see it.

Very nice Kitty. I like the use of the light transparents.

Why embarrassed? It looks just like paint to me. I assumed it was enamel sprayed-on, or at least sifted. Of course having similar preconceptions to mine might be cause for embrrassment.
