frit casting final temp for Bullseye

Post by barneyzeitz »

I had been using Schott GNA previously Desag from Germany for fusing and casting since 1977 when i did my first experiments with a kiln. last year Schott decided to stop making GNA and I have just started using bullseye. I had a problem using another kiln wash, that gotresolved, but I have had some trouble with tiny bubbles rising up. I raised the tep to 1625 when I usually top at 1525F. I think I should have been more patient. I might soak up there longer upwards of an hour to make a smooth surface. Any thoughts. I am casting glass centerpieces seen on my website under fused and stained glass section

Just discovered that I have an element out, could be the reason for my problems getting the glass to fully fuse.
