fusing several large pieces together

Post by jerry keller »

I have a beautiful piece of dichroic irregularly shaped 1/8" 96 glass about 14"x8" that I want to fuse with a backing. The first piece will be 1/8", and the other piece 1/4" ( or possibly one 1/4" and another 1/8" piece - I'd like to make the final product thick, and sturdy. )

I am worried about getting bubbles in the glass - a blow-out, which I've experienced on smaller pieces if ramping too quickly. Any suggestions on a good ramping time would be appreciated.

8" x 14" is not that large. You should have no problem if you use "chads" and a standard bubble squeeze schedule.
