Flower pot melting debit at top temperature

Post by lucho/lachezar/ »

Hi all!

Is there a a prescription of how much glass would flow from an aperture of a certain size for a given time and temperature?

I'm about to cast 8 to 10kg (17 to 22 pounds) of S96 glass from a flower pot into a mould with a core. Because of the core, I will close the stock hole in the center and cut 2 new apertures - round cornered rectangulars, about 1x2cm each. Any predictions of how much time it will take at 840C/1550F?

My kiln is very big and I cannot open it while firing.

Thanks!
