Glass galleries, museums in Florence,Amsterdam and Oslo

Post by Judi Charlson »

I noticed all the helpful info of places to go in Ireland to see glass art
So......Maybe someone has ideas for me.
I will be in Florence the beginning of May. I am exhibiting a 3 volume artist book based on my bronze sculptures in a gallery there. That is very exciting, but now that I am more interested in glass sculpture:Can anyone suggest galleries or museums in Florence that exhibit glass sculptures?? I am then going to Amsterdam and Oslo.I would appreciate any suggestions.

Glass museums

Jydy,

I understand you fly point to point and you are forced
to miss places between.

There is however a goodglass museum in Ebeltoft, Denmark.

Ask Siw about Oslo, she is Norvegian and lives quite near to Oslo.

Frogner park is great, but don't miss Munch museum.
As a sculptor, I love his litographs.
Of course the Viking ships are a great sculptural experience.

If you can manage to get over there, check out Orrefors and Kosta Boda. I believe they give tours. Never able to go (every time I've been in Scandinavia it's been on business and I haven't had a minute to spare) but I hear it's great.
