new kiln performer /9 need advice please!!!

Post by evsirl »

hello all ( tony/ brad if your around)
i have just upgraded my kiln from a small aim 7 inch interior tile
to a massive kiln , aim performer /9 (talk about a leap of faith!!!) :D

i make small jewellery , i have got used to tempretures etc in the small kiln , but dont know what kind of fiering schedual i should be trying ,

also the shelf is made of a diferent matirial from the small kiln , and its an uneven surface even with 2 layers of thick kiln fibre paper
which give the pieces a rough texture against the skin )

the pieces are small i make 1- 2 inch or less
anyone use a similar kiln for this ?
and if so what fiering scedual would you suggest ?

in the small kiln a full fuse was 1475-1500
firepolish 1375

any suggestions of time frame to raise tempreture,
i have a controler with segements that i can program ,

this kiln seems more controlled so tempreture may not need to be as high ,
annealing was only about 10-20 mins in the small kiln

i would be glad of any advice :?

many thanks evsirl
