Glass Slumping Groups in Texas

Post by southwest-designs »

We are interested in finding glass slumping groups in Texas. San Antonio area would be preferable. We are new to the art form and would like to take classes or participate in work shops.

You might try asking the folks at http://www.aaproducts.com. They are located in Seguin which is pretty close I think.

Paul Tarlow in Austin teaches a lot of classes.
We have classes but we are in Fort Worth. Before Paul started teaching classes, we had people drive up for our classes. Maybe you can contact him, his work is terrific.

We don't have the current classes listed yet on the website but you can see what we offer on the website:

We are having a fusing class in Oct. and a slumping class in Nov. and also do private classes.

Check with Dianes Rainbow of Glass Shop. Think that's the name. They have fusing and lampwork along with traditional stained glass classes.

Actually, I teach somewhat infrequently (my next class is a Frits and Powders class in early November). The Art Glass Fusing Center (http://www.glassfusingcenter.com) in north Austin (up 183)where I teach does have lots of classes at a variety of levels. Also, Blue Moon (on N. Lamar near Northloop) teaches some fusing classes (http://www.austinbluemoon.com).

Thanks for the kind words Vernelle. One of these days I hope to get up to Ft. Worth and see you all.
