stacking molds

Post by Goldfinger »

I am new at fusing and slumping. Is there any reason why you can't stack molds for maximum efficiency? I would think there wouldn't be that much of a temperature differential in such a small space a make much of difference. I would interested in hearing opinions on this.

how would you stack them?

Do you mean, put a mold on a shelf, your glass on the mold, then put another shelf above the mold (on bricks or whatever) with another mold & glass? That would work if your kiln has fairly even temps, altho there will be some heat differential for the top vs. the bottom shelf, depending on where the elements are located. Air has to circulate under those molds. Is that what you were thinking of doing?
