I use atlantic.net. I found them to have a good balance of price and business level features. They also offered NT/ASP and SQL Server which I required.

i use hasweb, $20 for a year a lot more space and bandwidth allotment than i would ever use...i've had to contact customer support once and received a reply back within an hour at 10pm on a saturday night. considering a was paying $15/month with yahoo and wasn't impressed at all, i'm a happy camper.

I think you meant to have your address read without that extra r...

I fixed it here. Nice site and nice substantial work. Looks good to me Greg.

I don't know much about webhosting, but mine is packaged with my email account and so far is working well. It's still being set up with all the links back and forth between pages, tweaking verbage, colors and the layout some...but that doesn't have anything to do with Marj's question...I wanted to point out that she (are you a she marjmeyer?) might get free webspace with her email account like I do...and if it's not large enough (mine certainly is for my purposes) you can pay for additional bandwidth or what ever it's called.

Just a thought :)

For the domain name I use "verisign" they are very reputable company. Tons of space, plus emails etc. I use Road Runner as my web host - I actual am a webmaster for 3 web sites and use RR for them all. Never had a problem and when I have a tech question - they are easy to get ahold of. For submitting and ranking I use MicroSoft's Bcentral.

If you need any help just send me an email :D

They offer a VALUE PLUS plan (25 Mb. of disk space) for small business $107.40 a year plus $40 setup fee. Includes one catch-all POP3 account, FTP facility to charge your site files, on-line managing of your account, etc.. Easy upgrade to bigger plans.

Domain name registration-transfer-renewing at $6.95.

Domain parking-web forwarding-24x7 support and lots of tools included.

I have found them an affordable and dependable hosting company.

godaddy.com

When we did the research, they were the least expensive company with excellent reviews. I have never had a server down, their service is excellent and for $9.95, I have more bandwidth than I can use! There were cheaper servers out there for @ $5 a month, but they all had bad reviews.

This might sound really stupid, but...

my otherwise sane husband signed us up for some service that apparently only lets you create web pages using their rather crude system. These other places let you use dreamweaver or some such software to create, um, nice pages, right?

This is the service I use - the best I have ever found - REAL people answer the phone and actually talk to you!! Here is a copy of the link info I even put on my page because I LOVE these guys, after being on the web for years I tried them all - I am keeping this one. Know It All Solutions – Fellow crafters don’t let this site’s professional web site scare you away, as artists we tend to go for artsy pages, we sometimes can miss a good thing. I can personally attest to the effectiveness of this company. They provide hosting, domain registration, logo design, e-commerce, easy to use functions to update your site and much more, all with a personal touch! They designed my site and are always available for consultation. I have been searching for this kind of company for years. If you want to speak to a guy who is willing to give the best to crafters and artists like our selves call Joe toll free at 1-866-KIA-4WEB. I can promise you won’t be disappointed with this service.

DeMariee (Denise Rossi)

I notice that your surname is Rossi and the surname of the Chief Technical Officer at the site you are endorsing is also Rossi - coincidence?

LOL - actually they are Rossi's from Schenectady County and we are Rossi's from Colonie - if I was being deceptive I would have changed my profile :)

Does Ebay let you advertise your website? I thought they stopped doing that a long time ago? Also, for a small, easy to use web hosting service, what do you recommend. Need something small and easy.

Last I checked, Ebay allows you to advertise your website ONLY on your "ME" page. You cannot advertise your site directly on your auction listing (although I have seen some do so anyway). I used to tell potential clients that I had a website in my auction listings and then direct them to my "ME" page for the auctual link. Hope this helps!
