filigrees - can I

Post by bkfoltz »

I was digging through my stained glass stuff to find my copper sheets so that I could make some stars to sandwich between some colored glass and clear. I found some great brass filigrees that I forgot I had. Will they work?

Probably the best way to find out anything is by taking the time to do a test. Take notes. Then you will know for sure if it works.

We fused filigree wings between glass in some dragonflys. I was underwelmed! The metal darkens and looked ugly for the design. It did work, but needs more tests to get a better affect.

I had great results when I fused this star between some dichroic and clear glass.

You might want to try painting youy metal before fusing with something to keep it bright. I use Unique Glass Colors clear. Others have suggested Super Spray, Spray A or borax solution. View mine at http://photos.yahoo.com/tomwhite2
