question

Hi, this is probably a silly question, but what is the difference in fine silver verses sterling silver?

Thanks for letting me but in.

Sterling silver is usually 92.5% silver and the rest (in the US) is copper.
Fine silver is at least 99.99% silver.

Cathie,

When using silver in fusing you also need to be careful what colors of glass and fusing temperature you are using. The compounds used to color glass can react with the silver at high temperatures.

I get it from Rio Grande and Lonnie's (Phoenix area supplier).

Your local lapidary or jewelry supply stores also usually carry fine silver wire and sheet.
