Hot Shot Kiln

Post by kbarbour »

Wondering if anyone out there has used the Hot Shot Kiln by Evenheat. this kiln has the Set Pro for setting temperature, time, etc. I set the temperature for 1000 degrees per hour, total degrees 1500, hold for 10 minutes. I noticed that the first hour the kiln got all the way up to 1000 degrees, but then it took another hour and 20 minutes to get to 1500. Is this normal? It seems like the kiln should be able to reach 1500 degrees much faster than that. I am fairly new to fusing and I just purchased this kiln and want to make sure it is not defective. I was fusing very small peices so I was trying to go faster. I did contact Evenheat and they said I might be asking the kiln to do something it can't but I need a second opinion. Thank you.
