Pens that don't burn off.

Post by vblue »

I need to do some testing of a process and would like to mark on my pieces the measurement used. (That way I don't have to keep looking for my notes in my messy workroom.)

What can I use to mark on my glass with that won't burn off?

Thanks,
Vernelle

"pilot" pens in gold and silver have worked for me in the past. You can also thin glass enamel paint and use a nib.

Pilot gold and silver pens, gold can turn light blue at higher temps (1450? Maybe).

The ones listed on Amazon as "Pilot Gold and Silver Permanent Marker, Extra Fine Point, Set of 2 Markers (41400)
by Pilot"

I have found them at Wallgreen's (in Texas) among other places, they are fairly common.

Bic whiteout pens. Not necessarily compatible within a fused piece.

Check for xylene contents in these marker type pens. It burns at low temperatures. :-k
