tack fuse or glue?

Post by HeatherSal »

I have created a piece that is 11 x 17 and has 3 figures cut out. They are men dressed in suits (sorry can't take a picture) I really would like to add in texture collars and ties on these guys. What concerns me is another firing with a tack fuse in such a small proportion to the rest of the piece. I was thinking that I might be better off fire polishing the collars and ties separately and then glueing it on. Any advise would be appreciated.

Thank you

Unfortunately, can't give a lot of advice without seeing what you're talking about. Anytime you refire you're taking a risk, but if you're going to firepolish anyway, i'm not sure why you wouldn't also tack-fuse. Just remember that tack-fuses need a MUCH longer anneal.
