Where to buy ceramaguard

Post by Luke Matthys »

Does anyone know where to buy Ceramaguard in the SF Bay Area? Any additional details would be appreciated like, which product? (i.e. 605, 607, 608), minimum order size (1 sheet or 6 pack), in stock or special order?

Also, I assume folks prefer to use the unperforated (605)? Comments?

Thanks a bunch

You can find a distributor close to you at

Chances are the minimum you can buy is one box, which contains six 2' x 4' sheets. Last time I bought one was 4 years ago, at about a hundred bucks as I recall. I shared two sheets with a friend, and still have two left for future projects.

Also, it doesn't matter if its the perforated variety or plain/solid. That's the painted side, and you'll fire on the back side anyway. You do have to prefire (with the kiln vented) to burn off the paint, and kiln wash the firing surface.

I live in SF, and there are distributors here who will order a box, and it takes a few days to arrive. I would like to share a box.
